Walker's Rising Stars
Sponsored by noted Tampa Bay Area neurosurgeon, Dr. Jeffrey Walker, through the Pinellas Education Foundation, the Walker's Rising Stars Scholarship Competition provides college scholarships to Pinellas County public high school juniors and seniors. Scholarships up to $7,000 will be awarded to solo performers in the areas of dance, drama, vocal music, instrumental music, and visual arts. The competition begins with an application and essay and will conclude with finalists being invited to display their works or perform at the Walker's Rising Stars Scholarship Awards Show in May at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.
GENERAL APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Student must be a junior or senior enrolled in a Pinellas County Public School.
- Application must be filled out completely.
- Complete all additional relevant application requirements as listed on the following pages.
- Students may apply and compete in more than one category, but may not be a finalist in more than one category.
- Students who won first-place Walker’s Rising Stars Scholarships as juniors may not compete as seniors.
