Evening of Excellence

Thank you for joining us at the 2023 Evening of Excellence Presented by Aetna!

Dr. Adam Zele Named Pinellas County Schools’
2023 Teacher of the Year

Adam Zele, Ph.D. was named the 2023 Teacher of the Year for Pinellas County Schools on February 9th at the annual Evening of Excellence hosted at the Mahaffey Theater by the Pinellas Education Foundation. It was a memorable night celebrating the best in education with touching tributes to teachers, an enthusiastic crowd, and live music from Seminole High School’s All-In Big Band. The event honored 130 nominees and 10 top finalists who were all chosen as Teacher of the Year at their respective schools.

Whether you joined us in-person or watched the live stream from home, we wanted to highlight some of the special moments that made this such a magical night for Pinellas County educators.

Being a classroom teacher means having the opportunity to mentor, teach and guide. I love being a middle school teacher at Azalea, where every day, I am making a difference for good in the lives of my students by helping them discover a passion for learning and discovery.
