Classroom Grants

Now more than ever, we recognize the critical need to support teachers by giving them access to tools that close achievement gaps and enhance innovative, hands-on learning for students. On an annual basis, thanks to the generosity of our donors, Pinellas Education Foundation provides a minimum of $100,000 in teacher grants that are used for classroom supplies, activities, equipment, and related items.

New this year, we are partnering with the DonorsChoose platform to make the process for you to apply as easy as possible. You will be able to apply for a grant if your project is up to $1,000 and will be used in one or more of these 14 categories: computers and tables; instructional technology; books; classroom basics; lab equipment; flexible seating; reading nooks, desks storage; sports and exercise equipment; educational kits and games; art supplies; musical instruments; food, clothing, hygiene; virtual class trips; virtual class visitors.

Grant applications through DonorsChoose will open at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year. Check back soon for updates on how to apply.

Teacher Recognition

Evening of Excellence

We’re fortunate in Pinellas County to have so many exemplary teachers dedicated to improving student outcomes. Evening of Excellence is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on all the Teacher of the Year nominees, celebrate teachers, and show our appreciation for your impact that goes well beyond the classroom. The top ten finalists receive generous prize packages provided by community and corporate sponsors.

Teacher Program

Professional Development

At the Pinellas Education Foundation, we know that strengthening knowledge, skills and supports for teachers and principals will improve student achievement levels. We offer professional development and instructional coaching in our programs, such as Pinellas Early Literacy Initiative and Closing the Gap. We believe in continuous improvement by investing in innovative solutions to some of education’s most pressing issues.

Jacqueline Kasimati - First Grade Teacher, Fairmount Park Elementary

I love that the Pinellas Early Literacy Initiative (PELI) is all about high scholar achievement. It promotes engagement between the scholar and teacher and continues to build up the confidence our scholars truly need to be successful readers. As a teacher, PELI has reignited my love for phonics and literacy. It continues to push me to become a better teacher and grow my knowledge in all things reading.
