In a remarkable act of generosity, our dedicated donor, Lou Bonsey, made a substantial contribution to Pinellas Technical College’s (PTC) Machining Technologies Program by donating a new HAAS UMC 750 5-axis machine. This machine allows operators to approach a workpiece from all directions, eliminating the need to stop the machine and manually reposition pieces during operation.
This state-of-the-art machine will provide students with hands-on experience to build their resumes and keep them at the forefront of the advancements in machining.
Machining is one of the fastest-growing jobs in manufacturing, serving as the foundation of precision engineering and production. Machined parts and products are reliable, which is one of the reasons that machining is still used in various industries.
Lou, a graduate of PTC’s Machining Program, is a testament to the profound impact of alumni who are passionate about giving back. PTC helped pave the way for Lou to have a successful machining career by giving him the foundation and specialized skills he needed to succeed.
Lou shares in our vision that every student will be prepared for life after high school, and he knows this donation will undoubtedly shape the careers of countless students for years to come.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lou for his commitment to the future of manufacturing education and setting students up for success after graduation!
