Foundation Gains a New Voice in Equity

Meet Delquanda Turner Smith

As the Vice President of Equity at the Pinellas Education Foundation, Delquanda is responsible for the development and implementation of internal and external engagement strategies for leadership, staff, and programs that promote and advance equity and inclusion. Delquanda joins the Foundation after four years at the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg and brings with her an extensive background in race and health equity, leadership, community engagement, strategic connections, organizational development, early learning, and corporate hospitality. Her volunteerism includes serving on countywide grants review committees; mentoring for Take Stock in Children and My Brothers and Sisters Keepers; and serving as a board member of Leadership St. Petersburg Alumni Association. She is a Beyond Diversity Courageous Conversations Affiliate Practitioner, using protocol to talk about race and create opportunities to bridge the equity gap. Delquanda is a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of South Florida and is a lifelong resident of St. Petersburg, where she resides with her family.
