(TAMPA BAY TIMES, Jan. 28, 2019) — Moments after hearing herself announced as Pinellas County Teacher of the Year, a teary-eyed Nicole Kenngott took the podium in front of a full house at Mahaffey Theater.

She thanked family and friends, then turned to a student standing next to her.

“Girl, you’re the reason that we do this,” the teacher said. “Teaching is the best.”
