TBBJ: Pinellas schools score TB12 partnership for wellness-focused curriculum

(Sept. 1, 2022) Tom Brady is bringing health and fitness to the classroom.

TB12 has teamed up with Pinellas County School District and the Pinellas Education Foundation to bring wellness-focused curriculum to middle and high school students.

TB12 is a health and wellness brand co-founded by Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Alex Guerrero.

“It’s basically bringing those principles of lifelong wellness, health, pliability, stretching, nutrition that [Brady’s] made so famous into our curriculum,” Pinellas Schools Superintendent Kevin Hendrick said in an interview with the Tampa Bay Business Journal. “Not that we weren’t teaching some of that, but it’s showing some of the ways in which he does it, and his TB12 brand does it. Kids get excited about that.”

TB12 and the Pinellas Education Foundation did not respond to requests for comment.

The program will be deployed across six middle and four high schools in Pinellas County, focusing on eighth and 10th graders. It intends to bring wellness and health principles to the forefront for students to have a better, more balanced understanding they can carry through their lives.
